CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

The Conference Committee invites you to submit abstracts now for Long Oral presentation, Poster presentation, Rapid fire presentation, Workshops presentations. 

The deadline for submission is: Wednesday 8th May (midnight AEDT)

KEY DATES 

  • Call for abstracts open: Friday 15 March
  • Call for abstracts close: Wednesday 8 May 
  • Notification of abstract acceptance: From Tuesday 18 June
  • Presenter registration deadline: Monday 14 July 

PRESENTATION TYPES

  • Long Oral presentation (10 minute presentation, with 3 minutes Q&A)
  • Rapid fire presentation (4 minute presentation, 8 slides maximum, with group Q&A time after the session presentations are completed)
  • Workshop (Approximately 1-1.5 hours, including discussion time. Minimum of two speakers and maximum of five)
  • Poster presentation 

For Long Oral, Poster and Rapid fire presentations you must select the appropriate type of Abstract from the list below:

  • Research study: Describing the collection, analysis and interpretation of tobacco control research studies.
  • Program, policy or advocacy report: Describing the latest programs, policy or advocacy action.

The OTCC 2024 Conference Committee invites you to submit an Abstract under the themes below: 

Policy and Advocacy Themes: 

  • Product regulation
  • Pricing, taxation, and economic issues
  • Retail availability and licensing of tobacco products
  • E-cigarettes
  • Other products (reduced nicotine cigarettes, waterpipes, cigars, roll your own, oral etc.)
  • Advertising, marketing and promotion (packaging, brand variants, online etc)
  • Smoke-free environments
  • Novel or alternative approaches (smoke-free generation, endgame strategies)
  • Industry interference
  • Trade and legal issues
  • Advocacy

Community and Practice Themes:

  • Smoking cessation
  • Social marketing
  • Education and school-based programs
  • Health systems
  • Training
  • Trends in quitting and relapse
  • Priority populations
